In Year 4, students continue to expand their academic knowledge while developing more advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The curriculum is designed to foster curiosity, independence, and a love for learning, with a focus on core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), Health and Physical Education (HPE), and The Arts.

• English: Students deepen their understanding of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. They read more complex texts, improve their writing techniques, and begin to analyze language for its structure and purpose. The emphasis is on narrative and informative writing, as well as comprehension and vocabulary development.

• Mathematics: The Year 4 mathematics curriculum builds on previous knowledge, introducing concepts such as multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, geometry, and data interpretation. Students apply these concepts to real-world problems, developing both theoretical and practical mathematical understanding.
