The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is a critical exam for students seeking admission to private and independent schools across the United States. This exam assesses a student’s academic abilities in key areas such as Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Writing.

The SSAT is divided into three levels: Elementary, Middle, and Upper, each designed to match the typical age range of test-takers. The exam covers a variety of subjects, including Quantitative (Math) skills such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis, Verbal Reasoning skills focusing on vocabulary, word relationships, and analogies, as well as Reading Comprehension, which tests a student’s ability to understand and interpret passages. A Writing Sample is also required, though it is unscored and sent directly to schools for review. Additionally, an experimental section with unscored questions helps with the development of future tests.
